Int’l Organizations Express Support for Chief Justice’s Judicial Reform Roadmap

Dhaka: UNDP representatives, ambassadors, and high commissioners to the UK, Sweden, and the European Union have expressed their solidarity with the judicial reform roadmap announced by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed. They have assured their cooperation in implementing these reforms, as noted in a press release signed by Md Shafiqul Islam, Public Relations Officer of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the European Union Office in Bangladesh praised the reform roadmap on their verified Facebook page on April 13. They highlighted their experiences and assured financial support aimed at establishing the rule of law in the country, with a focus on creating specialized commercial courts.



UNDP also issued a formal statement on its official Facebook page, applauding the Chief Justice’s reform roadmap. They reaffirmed their commitment as a development partner in the implementation of the reforms.



Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed first outlined the roadmap for judicial reform on September 21 of the previous year.
