International Day against Drug Abuse and
Illicit Trafficking was observed in the town today with a call to build
social movement and create much awareness among the people to have a drug-
free society.
The District Administration and District Narcotics Control Office under the
Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) chalked out elaborate programmes to
mark the day.
In the morning, a colorful procession was brought out from the Deputy
Commissioner’s office premises and ended at the same venue after parading
different streets of the town.
Later, a discussion was also held the Conference Room of the Deputy
Commissioner with Additional District Magistrate ABM Khalid Hossain Siddique
in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner SM Rafiqul Islam attended the meeting as the chief guest
while Additional Police Super Munna Biswas, Civil Surgeon Dr Shuvra Rani
Debnath and Assistant Director of the District Department of Narcotics
Control Golam Majumder were present as special guests.
