International Accounting Day and AIS Department’s Anniversary Celebrated at BRUR.

Rangpur: The International Accounting Day-2024, alongside the 15th founding anniversary of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS), was celebrated with enthusiasm at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today. Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali commenced the festivities by releasing balloons at the administrative building’s south gate in the morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the celebration continued with a vibrant procession led by the VC, which saw participation from students and teachers of the Department of AIS. This procession toured the main roads of the campus, showcasing the department’s spirit and unity. Following the procession, a cake-cutting ceremony took place at the Media Square, marking the dual celebration of International Accounting Day and the AIS Department’s foundation anniversary.

During the event, the VC noted the significance of November 10 as International Accounting Day and its coincidental alignment with the establishment date o
f the university’s AIS Department. He highlighted the exemplary relationship between the department’s teachers and students, emphasizing that such a strong bond is beneficial for the university’s growth and reputation.

Professor Showkat expressed optimism about the university’s future, stating that with the collective efforts of its teachers, students, officers, and staff, BRUR is poised to become the leading university in the North Bengal region. He extended his greetings and congratulations to the department’s teachers and students on their founding anniversary.

The celebration was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Md Ferdous Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Science Associate Prof. Dr. Md Emdadul Haque, and Registrar Dr. Md Harun-or-Rashid, among others. The event concluded with an engaging cultural program in the afternoon, adding a festive touch to the day’s celebrations.
