Interim Govt to Hand Over Power Through Fair Polls: Supradip

Chittagong: Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today announced that the interim government is committed to transferring power to an elected government through an election process characterized by peace and transparency.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Supradip Chakma emphasized the interim government’s dedication to holding a national election that is free, fair, and credible. He assured that the transfer of power would occur within the next two months, ensuring a smooth transition to an elected government.



The adviser made these remarks during the second day of the national cremation ceremony for the late most venerable Tilokananda Mahathero at Baghaichhari in Rangamati. The event saw thousands of devotees gathering to pay their respects to Tilokananda Mahathero at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Monastery during the three-day religious program.



Supradip Chakma highlighted the significant contributions of the late Tilokananda Mahathero, particularly his efforts in spreading education across the Chattogram Hill Tracts. He urged attendees to preserve and continue the legacy left by Tilokananda Mahathero. The final rites for Tilokananda Mahathero are scheduled to be held this afternoon.
