Khulna: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain announced that the interim government is committed to conducting a free, fair, and acceptable election, after which it will hand over power to the newly elected government. He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the 65th 'Waaz mahfil and destarband' ceremony of Shiromony Hafizia Madrasa at Shiromony Secondary School in Khulna city. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Hossain emphasized the interim government's role in ensuring a smooth transition of power to the winning parties in the upcoming elections. He also highlighted the government's efforts to reduce the cost of hajj by over Tk one lakh and mentioned ongoing initiatives to improve facilities for pilgrims, including the possibility of enabling pilgrimages by ship. In his address, Dr Hossain stressed the importance of understanding the teachings of the Holy Quran and applying them in daily life. He pointed out that the social system of the country could be transform ed by adhering to the instructions of Almighty Allah. He also praised the achievement of Bangladeshi children in global Arabic competitions, despite Arabic not being their mother tongue. Dr Hossain advocated for a robust education system that enables children to contribute to the propagation of religion. He urged that the Holy Quran should be read with comprehension of its meanings to truly appreciate its virtues. He assured the Madrasa authorities of his full support for the Madrasa's development. The event was presided over by former Parliament member and Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mia Golam Parwar. Special guests included Maulana Qari Abdul Haque, President of Huffazul Quran Foundation, and Maulana Moniruzzaman, Assistant Professor of Khulna Darul Quran Siddiquia Madrasa.
