Dhaka: The 7th Inter-service National Weightlifting competition is set to commence tomorrow at the Weightlifting Gymnasium in the capital, as stated in a press release. This highly anticipated event will span three days and is being organized by the Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 65 selected weightlifters, comprising 41 male and 24 female athletes, will compete in the event. These athletes represent five teams from various services, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the competition. The participating teams include the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party, Bangladesh Jail, Border Guard Bangladesh, and Fire Service and Civil Defense. The competition is expected to showcase the strength and skill of the weightlifters, as they contend for top honors in their respective categories. The event not only aims to promote weightlifting as a sport but also serves as a platform for inter-service camaraderie and excellence.
