Dhaka: The inter-district age group girls’ swimming competition, part of the Festival of Youth 2025, kicked off today at the Dhanmondi Riya Gope women’s sports complex in the capital. This event has drawn attention as a significant gathering of young swimming talent from across the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) vice president and Mia Bhai Foundation chairman Mizanur Rahman officially inaugurated the two-day meet as the chief. The competition features 107 swimmers representing 22 districts, all competing in nine distinct events organized by the Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association.
The competition’s nine events include the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, and 200m individual medley. This diverse range of events offers a comprehensive platform for showcasing the skills of these young athletes.

ted to attend the closing ceremony tomorrow as the chief guest, where he will distribute prizes. National Sports Council Secretary Aminul Islam will also be present as a special guest, adding to the significance of the occasion.
