Dhaka: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Zahir Uddin Swapan has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the people of Palestine. He reaffirmed Bangladesh’s firm stance in support of Palestine during a film screening programme on the ‘Nakba’ or ‘Catastrophe,’ organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the event marked the commemoration of the forced displacement of numerous Palestinians from the occupied Palestinian territories by Israel in 1948, known as the ‘Nakba’ or ‘Catastrophe.’ The Palestinian Embassy organized a nearly two-hour film screening to highlight the historical event.
The programme witnessed the attendance of ambassadors, diplomats, distinguished personalities, and media representatives. At the beginning of the event, Ambassador of Palestine, Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, presented a commemorative crest to the Information Minister. The Ambassador also expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Bangladesh for their continued support on the Palestinian issue.
