Rajshahi:Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir has emphasized that industrial development is crucial for the economic progress of Bangladesh. Speaking at a meeting with plot owners at the BSCIC Industrial Estate, Muktadir highlighted the importance of developing labor-intensive manufacturing industries in a country with a large population and limited land.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister stated that the government plans to prioritize industrial sectors capable of creating more employment opportunities with low capital investment. He also noted the importance of creating skilled human resources to meet the increasing demand for trained manpower as manufacturing industries expand.

The minister further explained the need to establish a direct link between investment and employment by ensuring a productive sector and favorable environment. He pointed out that small, cottage, and medium enterprises could generate significant employment, and steps are being taken to provide easy-term loans and market facilities for these businesses.

During the meeting, which was moderated by Zafar Bayezid, Regional Director of the BSCIC Regional Office, several issues were raised by speakers, including the need for better security, infrastructure improvements, and financial support. The minister assured that he would take initiatives to address these concerns, including enhancing security and infrastructure at Rajshahi BSCIC-1 and BSCIC-2.
