Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has scheduled April 19 for the charge-framing hearing in a case concerning crimes against humanity allegedly committed by former MP Shamim Osman and 11 others in Narayanganj during the July Mass Uprising. The two-member tribunal, led by Justice Golam Mortuza Mazumder, issued the order earlier today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the prosecution also submitted formal charges in a separate case involving the murder of six individuals, including Chhatra Dal leader Wasim, in Chattogram. This case implicates 22 individuals, among them former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud. On April 2, the tribunal’s investigation agency submitted its probe report, presenting three charges against the accused. Of the 22 individuals charged, four, including former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, are currently detained.
