Brahmanbaria: The para-military Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian sarees worth over Taka 2.59 crore from the Debgram area under Akhaura upazila in Brahmanbaria district. “Acting on a tip-off, the BGB personnel of Akhaura BOP under the Sultanpur Battalion of BGB (60 BGB) conducted a special raid in the Devgram area of Akhaura upazila in Brahmanbaria on Saturday,” Sultanpur Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel SM Shariful Islam stated today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the border security forces seized 2,761 pieces of Indian sarees valued at approximately Taka 2,59,77,000. The seized goods are yet to be submitted to the concerned customs office through the proper legal process.
