Dhaka: India and Zanzibar women's kabaddi teams arrived in the capital today to take part in the 2nd Women's Kabaddi World Cup scheduled to be held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur from November 17 to 24. Overall preparations have been made to ensure the success of the World Cup, with a strong emphasis on the safety of the players, as well as efficient accommodation, transportation, and venue management.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Women's Kabaddi World Cup is being held in Dhaka after a thirteen-year hiatus. The first edition of the World Cup was hosted in Patna, India, in 2012, where Bangladesh was defeated by Japan in the quarterfinals, with India claiming the championship and Iran finishing as runners-up.
The Bangladesh women's kabaddi team has been rigorously preparing for the upcoming World Cup. As part of their preparations, the team traveled to Nepal for a five-match kabaddi test series. Currently, the team is undergoing training under the guidance of coaches Shahnaz Parveen Maleka and Arduzzaman Munshi at BKSP in Savar.
