Dhaka: Bangladesh Air Force will face off against Power Development Board in the final match of the Turkish Airline Independence Cup volleyball competition, scheduled to be held at Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium tomorrow.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the final match is set to commence at 3 pm. It will follow the place-deciding match between Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, which is slated to begin at 11 am at the same venue. The Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka, Ramis Sen, is expected to attend as the chief guest and will distribute prizes during the event.
Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) vice president Masudul Alam and Turkish Airlines general manager Islam Gure will serve as special guests. In the matches leading up to the final, Bangladesh Air Force secured a victory over Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party, while Power Development Board defeated BKSP, both with 3-0 set victories.
Eight teams are participating in this tournament, which is sponsored by Turkish Airlines and organized by BVF. The teams include Bangladesh Air Force, Power Development Board, Titas Club, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, Bangladesh Jail, Bangladesh Police, Ansar and Village Defense Party, and Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. Notably, the defending champions Bangladesh are not participating in this year’s event.
