If Political Stability Prevails, Economy to Perform Better: BB Governor

Tangail: Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur has stated that the overall economic condition of the country remains stable and, should political stability continue, the economy is expected to perform better in the future. Dr. Mansur shared these insights while serving as the chief guest at a regional seminar on MFI-Bank Linkage, organized by the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) at a local resort in Basail, Tangail.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar aimed to enhance the accessibility of bank financing for the rural poor. Dr. Mansur also discussed the ongoing efforts to recover laundered money, mentioning that lawyers have been dispatched to England from various banks. He noted that different groups of companies are attempting to establish their claims and expressed optimism about achieving positive outcomes soon.



The event was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin, Executive Vice Chairman of MRA, and featured other notable speakers, including Shawkat Ali Khan, Managing Director of Sonali Bank, and Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director of BRAC Bank. Chairpersons of various NGOs from across the country also attended the seminar.
