Khulna: The 55th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB), alongside National Engineering Day, was marked in Khulna with a series of vibrant events, including rallies and a discussion meeting.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the celebrations were organized by the IDEB Khulna District Unit and started with a lively rally from Shibbari intersection to Shaheed Hadis Park. Engineers and students participated enthusiastically, carrying banners and festoons that highlighted this year's theme: "Skilled manpower is the foundation of nation building."
The discussion meeting was presided over by Engineer Emdadul Haque Khan, the convener of the celebration committee, and was conducted by Member Secretary Engineer Shibli Noman. Acting Divisional Commissioner of Khulna, Md. Firoz Shah, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Engineer Sheikh Mustafizur Rahman, Principal of Khulna Polytechnic Institute, Engineer Md. Ziaur Rahman, Principal of Khulna Technical Training Centre, and IDEB leaders Engineer Selimul Azad and Engineer S.K. Mahmud Alam.
The speakers at the event highlighted the necessity of transforming the country's vast population into skilled manpower to achieve sustainable development. They emphasized the importance of expanding technical and vocational education as a means to build a stronger Bangladesh.
