ICT Team Visiting Narail, Jashore to Probe Mass-Uprising Violence

Narail: A joint team of prosecution and investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is visiting Narail and Jashore to probe incidents of violence that took place in the two districts during the student-led July-August mass-uprising and collected evidence in this regard.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, ICT prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud confirmed the visit. The team, led by him and probe body deputy assistant director Masud Pervej, arrived in Narail on January 21 and plans to proceed to Jashore today.



BM Sultan Mahmud stated, “We have visited Lohagara, Narail Sadar, and Naragati yesterday and today and recorded statements of 30 witnesses and victims so far. We have also visited places of occurrence and talked to family members of the martyrs.”



He further mentioned that officers-in-charge of the concerned police stations were present, among others, during their visits. The ICT prosecutor added that the team would leave Narail for Jashore this afternoon and is scheduled to return to Dhaka on January 24.
