ICT Sector to Create Employment for One Million People, Says Minister Anam

Madhupur: Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam announced today that the government will create employment opportunities for one million people in the ICT sector. This statement was made during the inauguration ceremony of a 700-meter road construction at Sathi Mor, Madhupur, Tangail.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Anam, who also holds the portfolio of Science and Technology, emphasized that since the establishment of the government under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, there has been a consistent effort to deliver development and services directly to the people. He highlighted several initiatives in line with the BNP government’s election promises, including the implementation of Family Cards, Farmer Cards, and canal-digging programs.



Minister Anam also mentioned ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment to hi-tech parks, further supporting the growth of the ICT sector. He expressed his commitment to ensuring the safety and peacefulness of the Madhupur-Dhanbari region, stating that no criminal activities or extortion would be tolerated, aligning with the government’s election commitments to foster secure and developed communities.



The event was attended by Madhupur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Zubair Hossain, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Naim Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Engineer Md. Rafiqul Islam Bhuiya, Agriculture Officer Rakib Al Rana, and Madhupur Upazila BNP President Md Zakir Hossain.
