Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 has ordered the publication of notices in two national dailies, directing seven individuals, including Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader, to appear before it by January 8. This order is in relation to a case concerning crimes against humanity committed during the July Mass Uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the other accused in this case include Awami League Joint General Secretary A F M Bahauddin Nasim, former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, and its General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil. Also implicated are the President of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League Saddam Hossain and its General Secretary Wali Asif Inan, as stated by prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman.

The second tribunal had previously issued arrest warrants against these seven individuals on December 18, 2025. The ICT-2’s recent directive follows the formal charge against the accused being taken into cognisance. The prosecution had officially filed this formal charge with the tribunal registrar’s office on December 18.
