The case pertains to events during the July Mass Uprising and includes 45 accused individuals, among them prominent figures such as Obaidul Quader, Anisul Huq, and Shahjahan Khan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tribunal, which is a three-member panel led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, made this decision after granting a prosecution request for additional time to complete their investigation. The tribunal’s decision underscores the complexity and significance of the case as it progresses through the judicial process.

During today’s proceedings, several high-profile accused individuals, including Anisul Huq, Amir Hossain Amu, Shahjahan Khan, Qamrul Islam, and others, appeared before the court. However, one of the accused, Lt Col (Retd) Mohammad Faruk Khan, was unable to attend due to medical treatment.

The tribunal had previously issued arrest warrants for these 45 individuals on October 17, 2024, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged crimes committed during the July Mass Uprising. The case continues to attract attention due to the involvement of notable political and public figures.
