Dhaka: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today signed a condolence book at the Nepalese Embassy in Dhaka, expressing Bangladesh’s solidarity with Nepal following the devastating floods and mudslide in the country’s north.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kobir signed the condolence book on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, expressing heartfelt sympathies over the loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by the August 26 disaster. He conveyed his condolences for the death of hundreds, including tourists, and the large-scale destruction of properties and infrastructure.
The state minister emphasized that Bangladesh’s thoughts and prayers were with those affected by the tragedy during this time of profound grief. He assured that Bangladesh stands ready to extend any necessary assistance to Nepal.
Kobir expressed confidence in the resilience and strength of the Nepalese people, stating that Bangladesh is confident in Nepal’s ability to overcome the challenges with fortitude.
