Rajshahi: All preparations for this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi, are in the final stage. This year, the exams will be conducted simultaneously at a total of 208 centers across the 8 districts of the division.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the education board authorities have already finalized and published the list of centers. The HSC and equivalent written examinations are scheduled to begin on July 2 and will continue until August 8. Practical exams will follow thereafter. Zahirul Haque, Assistant Controller of Examinations (Confidential) of the Rajshahi Education Board, confirmed this information, stating that all administrative preparations have been completed to ensure a fair, cheating-free, and peaceful examination environment.
Strict monitoring at examination centers will be enforced to maintain law and order and prevent malpractices such as question paper leaks. Among the 8 districts of the division, Rajshahi city holds the highest number of exam centers, while Joypurhat has the fewest. Specifically, there are 43 centers in Rajshahi, 33 in Bogura, 31 in Sirajganj, 28 in Pabna, 25 in Naogaon, 20 in Natore, 15 in Chapainawabganj, and 12 in Joypurhat.
The education board plans to begin distributing all necessary materials and answer scripts to centers starting June 11. Officers in charge of the respective centers will collect these materials from the board. Board officials have emphasized that examinees must enter the centers 30 minutes before the exams commence. Coordination with district and upazila administrations aims to prevent any incidents at the centers and ensure continuous supervision by vigilance teams. Special security measures are also in place for the transportation and protection of question papers to remote centers.
Zahirul Haque expressed the board's determination to complete the examinations in a conducive environment. He noted that with the cooperation of examinees, teachers, and guardians, the Rajshahi Board aims to successfully conduct the examinations this year, as in previous years. It is noteworthy that annually, a significant number of female students in the Rajshahi Education Board achieve commendable results in terms of both examinee numbers and pass rates. The board authorities plan to publish a full notification with final statistics of examinees within this week.
