Dhaka: Professor Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the Dhaka Education Board, today stated that this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results are ‘a reflection of reality.’ ‘Students have distanced themselves from their study table, which is reflected in the results. I urge guardians to reflect on the issue,’ he remarked during an interaction with journalists at the Dhaka Education Board meeting room in Baksibazar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Kabir highlighted the increased difficulty of the English question paper, attributing it to the removal of multiple choice questions (MCQs). He emphasized the necessity of evaluating board-wise performance and the performance of each educational institution to discuss this year’s HSC results comprehensively.
The current year’s average pass rate across 11 education boards stands at 58.83 percent, a significant decrease from the 77.78 percent pass rate recorded in the previous year, 2024. Out of the 10,47,242 students who participated in the HSC and equivalent examinations across the nine general education boards, 5,98,166 students successfully passed.
Dhaka Board achieved the highest pass rate among the nine general education boards with a rate of 64.62 percent.
