Dhaka: Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher on Thursday directed officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) to streamline flat purchase and ownership transfer services, to ensure hassle-free access to quality housing for ordinary citizens. The minister gave the directives at a views-exchange meeting held at the NHA conference room at Segunbagicha.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Minister Taher emphasized the importance of the NHA as a service-oriented institution that directly supports the housing dreams of common people. He noted that a person often invests their lifetime savings to purchase a flat or plot, making it crucial to provide ownership transfer and subsequent services in a straightforward, efficient, and harassment-free manner.

Minister Taher instructed NHA officials to exercise heightened vigilance, ensuring that citizens encounter no harassment when accessing these services. Emphasizing a corruption-free housing sector, the minister announced plans to fully digitize the NHA’s operations and land management systems. He assured that the ministry would support any beneficial initiatives proposed by the Housing Authority.

Additionally, Taher encouraged officials to uphold personal integrity, cautioning that excessive greed undermines ethics, humanity, and social values. He stressed the importance of self-criticism, self-purification, and honesty to create a better future for upcoming generations.

The meeting was attended by State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmed Sohel Monzoor, Additional Secretary Md Abdul Matin, and NHA Chairperson Ferdousi Begum.
