Dhaka: Hossain Sadat FCS has been elected as President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) during its 114th Council Meeting. He has previously served on the ICSB Council from 2013 to 2016.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sadat is a corporate leader with nearly 30 years of cross-industry experience, offering expertise in corporate governance, regulatory strategy, sustainability, financial management, and strategic communications. His career includes senior leadership roles at Grameenphone Ltd., Shell Oil and Gas, Cairn Energy PLC, and KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq.
In the same meeting, the Council of the Institute also elected Md. Rafiqul Islam FCS as the Senior Vice President. Islam has previously served as the Member Secretary of the International Relations Sub-Committee of ICSB for the term 2016-2019 and was a Member of the Company Law Review Sub Committee for the term 2019-2022. With 25 years of professional experience, he is currently the Deputy Managing Director and Company Secretary of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC.
