Dhaka: The home ministry today announced the transfer of 13 police officers, holding the ranks of supernumerary additional deputy inspector general (Addl-DIG), superintendent of police (SP), and supernumerary SPs, to new postings. The directive, issued via a circular from the ministry of home affairs, was signed by Deputy Secretary Mahbubur Rahman and takes immediate effect.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the reshuffle includes the transfer of Supernumerary Addl-DIG of Special Branch (SB) MM Hasanul Zahid to the Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Sarda as SP. Meanwhile, Mohammad Salah Uddin Talukdar, SP of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), has been reassigned to the Range DIG office in Mymensingh as SP.
Other notable transfers involve AFM Al Kibria, SP of the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Tangail, who moves to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as special SP. Md Abu Sayem Prodhan, Commandant (SP) of the In-Service Training Centre in Gaibandha, is transferred to PTC in Rangpur. Md Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), is heading to the Police Headquarters as Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
Further changes include Kazi Muhammad Shafi Iqbal, SP of Police Staff College, Dhaka, moving to the CID as special SP, and Muhammad Kamal Hossain, SP of PBI, reassigned to the In-Service Training Centre in Gaibandha as SP. Ukko Singh, SP of Armed Battalion of Police (APBn), is transferred to PBI as SP. Sonatan Chakroborty, Supernumerary SP attached to Range DIG office, Rangpur, is moving to Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RrMP) as additional DC.
Additionally, Mohammad Fakhruzzaman Jewel, Supernumerary SP of Industrial Police, is reassigned to the In-Service Training Centre in Sherpur as additional SP. Muhammad Ismail Hussein, SP of the Police Headquarters, remains at the headquarters but now as AIG. Finally, Supernumerary SP Md Abu Yusuf from PBI and Supernumerary SP Md Zahidur Rahman from Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are transferred to the Police Headquarters as additional SPs.
