Dhaka: Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has called for unity and collective efforts to ensure peace, stability, and development of the country. Speaking with journalists after Eid prayers, he emphasized the importance of working together to advance the nation, stating, "On this holy day, we pray to the Almighty for the peace, stability, prosperity, and development of the country. Let us work together to take our beloved nation forward-this should be our true joy."
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister highlighted the emerging global challenges, noting that fraud and deception have become serious concerns worldwide. He pointed out that with the expansion of digital technology, such crimes are spreading rapidly across borders, making it difficult for any single country to tackle them independently. He mentioned a global initiative under the United Nations' auspices to combat fraud and develop coordinated strategies, emphasizing the need for international support for a sustainable and peaceful resolution.
The minister expressed hope that global organizations, particularly the United Nations, would take a more active role in facilitating progress. He stressed that both global fraud prevention and Rohingya repatriation require strong international collaboration and reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to continued efforts in these areas.
After the prayers, Minister Ahmed visited the Mubarakiya Mosque premises around 10:00 am, where he paid homage at the graves of his parents. Earlier in the morning, he arrived at the mosque at around 8:30 am and later inspected the upazila grounds, directing authorities to take immediate steps for its development.
