Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser A F M Khalid Hossain today said higher education is key to build a prosperous nation. ‘It (higher education) is not merely limited in acquiring knowledge rather helps constructing person’s moral base,’ he said while Speaking as the chief guest at a reunion program at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC),Chattagram.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khalid emphasized that higher education creates opportunities for better employment and ensures economic stability. It allows individuals to be more confident and advance towards prosperity. The reunion was organized by the alumnus of the Quranic Science and Islamic Studies department of the university at its auditorium this morning, as noted in a press release from the religious affairs ministry.
Dr. Khalid highlighted that the advancement of a country is highly dependent on its higher education system. He pointed out that technology, science, and research collectively accelerate national economic growth and create skilled human resources. ‘Skilled manpower advances a country in global competitions and helps in formulating national educational policies,’ he added.
The event was presided over by IIUC Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Azadi, with speeches delivered by Prof. Abu Bakar Rafiq, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Prof. Gias Uddin Hafiz, Dr. Shafikur Rahman, and Prof. Ahsanullah, among others.
