Dhaka: A high-level BNP delegation, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, departed from the city for China last night at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The delegation, consisting of nine members, aims to hold discussions with top CPC leaders during their five-day visit.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 10:15 pm on an Air China flight. The delegation includes BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Selima Rahman, and AZM Zahid Hossain. Other members include BNP chairperson’s advisory council members Zahir Uddin Swapon, Ismail Jabiullah, and Prof Sukomal Barua, along with BNP media cell convener Maudud Ahmed Pavel.
Speaking to reporters, Mirza Fakhrul stated that the visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and China. Party insiders mentioned that the trip is part of BNP’s initiative to enhance relations with the Chinese government and the CPC.
The delegation is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on June 27.
