High Court Division Welcomes 25 New Additional Judges

Dhaka: The government has appointed 25 additional judges in the High Court division today. President Mohammed Shahabuddin, in consultation with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution, has appointed the new additional judges, according to a circular issued by the Law and Justice Division on Monday night.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the appointments will be effective for two years from the date of their swearing-in. The list of newly appointed additional judges includes prominent figures such as Md Anwarul Islam (Shahin), an advocate at the Supreme Court, and Md Saiful Islam, an Additional Secretary at the Law and Justice Division. Other notable appointees include Md Nurul Islam, District and Sessions Judge from Chattogram, and Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Registrar General at the Supreme Court.



The circular further details the inclusion of several Deputy Attorney Generals, such as Dihidar Masum Kabir and Mahmud Hasan, along with various advocates from the Supreme Court, such as Rajiuddin Ahmed and Faisal Hasan Arif. The newly appointed judges are set to take their oath shortly, marking the beginning of their two-year tenure.
