Dhaka:A court has postponed the hearing on charge framing in a case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others, related to the alleged murder of truck driver Hossain during the July 2024 Mass Uprising. The hearing is now set for October 26.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the hearing was delayed because prison authorities were unable to present accused Naim and Sajjad in court, as they were attending different court proceedings in other cases. The prosecution filed a time petition, which was granted by Judge Robiul Alam of the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4, resulting in the new hearing date.
The case documents reveal that Md Hossain was shot on July 19, 2024, in the Mohammadpur Chand Udyan area while returning home after parking his truck in Gabtoli. He later died from his injuries.
Hossain's mother, Rina Begum, filed the case on August 31, 2024, at the Mohammadpur Police Station. A charge sheet was submitted by police on November 23, 2025, implicating 34 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Hasan Mahmud, and Jahangir Kabir Nanak.
