Health Officials Record 3 Deaths and 580 New Dengue Cases in 24 Hours

Barishal: Health officials today reported 580 new cases of dengue, resulting in three fatalities over the past 24 hours, with the majority of cases emerging from the southwestern Barishal region.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the 580 cases, 128 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 94 in Chattogram division, 85 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 80 in Dhaka South City Corporation, and 85 in Dhaka North City Corporation areas. Additionally, 32 cases were reported in Khulna division, 17 in Mymensingh division, 55 in Rajshahi division, three in Rangpur division, and one in Sylhet division, as per a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Since the onset of the dengue outbreak, Bangladesh has recorded a total of 135 deaths and 34,411 cases this year. In comparison, the previous year saw 575 deaths and 101,214 cases across the country.
