Health Officials Record 1 Death and 664 New Dengue Cases Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today reported 664 new cases of dengue, resulting in one fatality in the past 24 hours.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the 664 cases, 136 patients were hospitalized in the Barishal division, 76 in the Chattogram division, and 117 in the Dhaka division excluding the capital. In the capital itself, 107 cases were recorded in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area and 101 in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area. Additionally, 17 patients were hospitalized in the Mymensingh division, 57 in the Rajshahi division, 47 in the Rangpur division, and six in the Sylhet division, as stated by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).



Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has witnessed 182 deaths and 43,173 cases of the disease. In comparison, last year the dengue outbreak resulted in 575 deaths and affected 101,214 people across the country.
