Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain has issued a stern warning indicating that doctors found guilty of negligence or other irregularities will face severe administrative actions, including dismissal from service and temporary suspension. The minister's announcement came during an unannounced inspection of the Bhedarganj Upazila Health Complex.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Husain conducted a thorough review of the hospital's operations during his visit. This included an inspection of healthcare services, the supply of medicines, patient attendance, and the performance of both doctors and healthcare staff. He engaged directly with patients and their families to gauge the quality of services being provided.
In discussions with hospital officials, the minister addressed the existing challenges, infrastructural limitations, and identified areas in need of further development. Emphasizing the importance of responsibility, he urged all healthcare professionals to maintain regular attendance and accountability in their duties.
Minister Sakhawat also called upon doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers to enhance their dedication to public service. He noted that achieving improved healthcare services and ensuring access to quality medical care at the community level requires a collective commitment to integrity, dedication, and accountability.
