Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Shakhawat Hossain today visited the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital to check on Abdul Hannan Mollah, father of child Ramisa, who was a victim of brutal torture and killing, as he is currently suffering from health complications.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the visit was made following directives from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The minister arrived at the hospital located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the evening to assess the condition of Mollah, who is under observation at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) under the supervision of Prof Dr Toufique Rahman Faruk, with suspected heart-related complications.
Upon receiving news of Mollah's hospitalisation, the health minister engaged with him and his family members, gathering detailed information from the attending physicians about his current health status. During the visit, the minister instructed the concerned authorities to ensure the highest standard of medical treatment for Ramisa's father.
