Cox’s bazar: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder emphasized the crucial role of head teachers in enhancing the quality of education. He made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Training Programme on Skills Development for Head Teachers’ held at the Cox’s Bazar Leadership Training Centre.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Podder highlighted that academic degrees or theoretical knowledge alone are insufficient for success in today’s competitive world. He stressed the importance of creativity and effective communication skills, noting that Leadership Training Centres are instrumental in developing these abilities. Podder advocated for the expansion of such centres, the incorporation of modern technologies, and the involvement of young individuals to cultivate honest, skilled, and compassionate leaders.
The event was presided over by Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Director General Abu Noor Md Shamsuzzaman. Special guests included Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Md Masud Rana, DPE Additional Director General Raza Md Abdul Hye, and Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin.
Later, Podder attended a seminar at Shaibal Tourism Motel, organized by the Cox’s Bazar Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the PEDP-4 and the ‘Demand-Based Government Primary School Development Project (Phase 1)’. The seminar discussed strategies for completing ongoing projects, such as the construction of buildings, boundary walls, wash blocks, installation of deep tube wells, and the provision of furniture.
