Dhaka: Land, Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff today urged landowners to actively participate in the successful implementation of online land development (LD) tax payments. ‘The land services including mutation, LD tax collection and distribution of Khatians are going on through online to make it people’s friendly and hassle free,’ he said. Hassan Ariff made these remarks while inaugurating the 100 percent collection of land taxes through online at Tejgaon area in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized jointly by the Land Ministry and the Dhaka District Administration, with Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed presiding. The initiative aims to provide Bangladeshi citizens, both domestically and internationally, with access to land-related services online. The adviser noted that this online collection system would soon be expanded throughout the country.
Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed highlighted that the government has initiated this
pilot project in the Tejturi Bazar area. He stated that all land-related online services are scheduled to begin in all 19 land circles of the capital soon. Additionally, he emphasized the importance for landowners to confirm their land ownership by paying taxes online.
During the event, Hassan Ariff distributed prizes and certificates to land taxpayers, winners of land coupons, land workers, and ambassadors. He also inspected the land camps’ activities and engaged with visitors to understand their experiences with the new system.
