Dhaka: A three-day Hajj and Umrah fair is scheduled to begin on August 14 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital. The event is organized by the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, HAAB held a press conference at Hotel Victory to announce the details of the upcoming fair. HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwar emphasized that the primary goal of the fair is to offer reliable information and necessary services to visitors, free from the influence of dishonest individuals and middlemen.
HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder stated that visitors will have the opportunity to verify various Hajj agencies’ packages and facilities. They will also be able to book directly or contact agencies without the involvement of middlemen. Additional information regarding support from banks and other financial institutions for Hajj will be available to pilgrims.
Sarwar also highlighted the improvements in Hajj management, noting that previous irregularities and mismanagement have been addressed through collaborative efforts between the current government and HAAB. This cooperation has led to restored discipline, significantly reducing the difficulties faced by Hajj pilgrims.
