Dhaka: A Dhaka court has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct an additional investigation into the murder case of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho. This directive came after the complainant expressed dissatisfaction with the initial investigation and filed a naraji petition, challenging the charge sheet and requesting a further probe.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam issued the order, mandating the submission of the probe report by January 20. The dissatisfaction arose from the charge sheet’s failure to identify the main accused or those who planned Hadi’s murder. Miah Mohammad Ashis Bin Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of Prosecution of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the court’s orders.
The objection to the charge sheet was initially submitted by Abdullah Al Jaber, the complainant and member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, after reviewing the document. Previously, on January 6, DB Inspector Faisa
l Ahmed, who is the investigating officer of the case, filed charges against 17 individuals.
