Group Captain Ragib Samad Appointed as HISA’s Executive Director

Dhaka: Group Captain SM Ragib Samad of the Bangladesh Air Force has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka. He replaced Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam, who will return to the Air Force following the end of his deputation.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made through an official notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. Group Captain Islam had been serving as the Executive Director of Dhaka Airport since March 24, 2022, during which he initiated several passenger-friendly measures, including the establishment of help desks, facilitation training, the launch of a dedicated airport website, and a 24-hour hotline service.

The notification also includes other reshuffles in positions within the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. CAAB's Member (ATM) Air Commodore AKM Ziaul Haque and Biman's Director of Engineering and Materials Management Air Commodore Mohammad Monirul Islam have both been reassigned to the Bangladesh Air Force.

In their places, Group Captain Md Noor-e-Alam of the Air Force has been appointed as CAAB's new Member (ATM), while Group Captain Manzur-e-Alam has been named Director of Engineering and Materials Management at Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The government has ordered that the reshuffle be effective immediately in the public interest.
