Sonagazi:Feni Grants were distributed among 42 Durga Puja mandaps in 17 unions and two municipalities of Sonagazi and Daganbhuiyan upazilas on behalf of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the financial support, totaling Tk 6,30,000, was provided from the minister's personal fund. Each mandap received a grant of Tk 15,000. The distribution took place after a meeting with members of the Hindu community, held at the Sonagazi Municipality auditorium.
The event was organized by Upazila BNP and Jubo Dal, with the minister's son, Tajwar Awal, attending as the chief guest. Sonagazi Upazila BNP Member Secretary Syed Alam Bhuiyan chaired the meeting, while Upazila Juba Dal Convener Khurshid Alam Bhuiyan moderated it.
To ensure the safety of the festivities, Sonagazi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abul Hasim stated that necessary precautionary measures have been implemented around the puja mandaps.
