Chandraganj: Water Resources Minister Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to the development and welfare of grassroots people during a family card distribution programme at Kushakhali Anee Chowdhury High School in Chandraganj upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Anee highlighted the introduction and gradual expansion of the family card programme, which aligns with the government's election manifesto. The initiative aims to empower women and provide social protection across the country. The minister reiterated the government's focus on public welfare and rural development, citing the revival of the canal excavation programme initiated by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman as a step towards agricultural revival.
During the event, 1,250 beneficiaries received family cards in Ward No. 5 of Kushakhali Union. The programme was presided over by Deputy Commissioner SM Mehdi Hasan, with notable attendees including lawmakers Abul Khair Bhuiyan and Shahadat Hossain Selim, Superintendent of Police Md Abu Tarek, and Zila Parishad Administrator Sahab Uddin Sabu. Senior government officials, beneficiaries, and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organisations were also present.
