Dhaka: Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar today emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the rehabilitation of individuals injured during the July-August mass uprising. "The interim government was established through the sacrifices of thousands of young martyrs, following a historic mass uprising," she stated during a discussion with scientists and officials of the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI). According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farida Akhtar highlighted the government's dedication to the welfare of the country and its citizens. She urged the BLRI to actively participate in conserving extinct breeds of animals, emphasizing that improving livestock quality could significantly enhance the country's egg and meat production. The meeting also featured the presence of Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Shahina Ferdowsi, as a special guest, with BLRI Director General Dr. Shakila Faruque presiding. Following the meeting, Adviser Akhtar toured various research centers and firms associated with the institute.
