Dhaka: The government has achieved a record-breaking milestone in the domestic Boro procurement programme 2025, which concluded on August 15. The programme has surpassed its initial targets, marking a significant achievement in the country’s agricultural sector.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the procurement targets were initially set at 3.50 lakh tonnes of paddy, 14 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice, and 50,000 tonnes of atap rice. The actual collection, however, exceeded these expectations, with 3.76 lakh 942 tonnes of paddy (107.69%), 14.06 lakh 533 tonnes of parboiled rice (100.46%), and 51,307 tonnes of atap rice (102.21%).

This accomplishment highlights the efficiency and effectiveness of the government’s procurement strategy, as well as the dedication of the farmers and officials involved in the programme. The successful collection not only ensures food security but also strengthens the agricultural economy of the country.
