Govt Urges Swift Action on July Uprising Legal Proceedings

Dhaka: The government has issued directives to district and metropolitan public prosecutors (PPs) to ensure the speedy disposal of cases filed by the families of the July martyrs and the injured July warriors, aiming to expedite the trial process. The solicitor wing of the Law and Justice Division issued a notification on August 2 in this connection.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Faruk Hossain, states that families of those martyred in the July Mass Uprising and injured July warriors have filed cases in different districts across the country. The notification emphasized the importance of proper conduct and rapid resolution of these cases.

To facilitate this process, all district public prosecutors and metropolitan public prosecutors have been instructed to take necessary steps for the effective prosecution of these cases. The government's move underscores its commitment to addressing the grievances of the families affected by the July Uprising and ensuring justice is served promptly.
