Dhaka: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a set of awareness messages urging people to take preventive measures against dengue as the spread of Aedes mosquito infection intensifies across the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a handout issued today highlights a concerning increase in the number of dengue patients in recent weeks, with a significant rise in hospital admissions reported in both public and private healthcare facilities.
In an effort to control the situation, the ministry has requested all public and private electronic media outlets to broadcast the dengue awareness messages regularly and free of cost in the public interest.
The messages urge individuals to seek medical advice and dengue diagnosis at the first sign of fever, adhere to treatment instructions from physicians, and maintain cleanliness by eliminating stagnant water in and around homes, under-construction buildings, and educational institutions.
Additionally, the ministry emphasized the importance of using mosquito nets both during the day and night and advised the public not to neglect post-recovery care, recommending that they consult doctors promptly to avoid further complications after recovery from fever.
