Sylhet: Labour and Employment and Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury today announced that the government is making efforts to deliver healthcare services directly to people's homes. The minister emphasized the importance of integrating homoeopathic treatment into these efforts.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a certificate distribution ceremony for students who successfully completed the DHMS (Diploma in Homoeopathy Medicine and Surgery) course at Jalalabad Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. The event took place at a hotel in the city, where the minister also pledged comprehensive support to upgrade the institution from a diploma-level to a bachelor-level institution.
The ceremony was presided over by the acting principal of the college, Dr Abdullah Al Mujahid Khan. Minister Choudhury reiterated his faith in homoeopathic treatment, citing his personal experience since a road accident in 1999. He noted that the global popularity of homoeopathy is largely due to its lack of side effects.
Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Saida Parvin participated in the event as a special guest. Other attendees included Deputy Secretary of the concerned ministry Mohammad Shamsul Islam, Vice Principal of the college Dr Emdadul Haque, managing committee member Professor Farid Ahmed, Dr Asma Begum, along with teachers, students, and civil society representatives.
In the concluding session, students who successfully completed the DHMS course received their certificates in recognition of their achievements.
