Dhaka: The government has announced a new initiative to provide monthly allowances to religious leaders serving in various places of worship throughout the country. This move will benefit the leaders of 4,809 mosques, 990 temples, 144 Buddhist monasteries, and 396 churches.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this decision was detailed in a handout released by the Public Information Department (PID) today. The initiative aims to support religious leaders and recognize their contributions to society, ensuring that they receive some financial assistance for their services. This policy reflects the government’s commitment to acknowledging the vital role that religious institutions and their leaders play in the community.
