Rajshahi: Rajshahi-3 constituency Member of Parliament Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon stated that the government is working tirelessly to deliver quality healthcare services to people’s doorsteps. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness, ensuring accurate diagnosis, and maintaining continuity of treatment to make healthcare services effective.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, MP Milon made these remarks as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a day-long free medical camp held today at the Parila Union Parishad office in Paba Upazila. He highlighted the limitations of one-day camps or primary treatment alone in curing long-term diseases, stressing the need for patients to receive regular follow-up care and adhere to doctors’ advice.
He called on NGOs and development organizations to coordinate initiatives so that patients can easily receive follow-up treatment. This, he said, would ensure that grassroots communities receive genuine healthcare services and that treatment outcomes are sustainable. MP Milon described the current government as accountable and people-friendly, committed to fulfilling public expectations.
In anticipation of the upcoming budget, he expressed optimism for a people-friendly budget with a focus on education, healthcare, and sustainable development. The day-long free medical camp provided underprivileged and local residents with healthcare services at no cost.
Specialist physicians Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dr. Tasnia Reza, and Dr. S.S. Shakila conducted health check-ups, offered necessary consultations, and distributed free medicines. From the morning, the camp area was lively with patients of various age groups attending.
The event was presided over by Parila Union Parishad Chairman Md. Saeed Ali and moderated by Union Parishad Secretary Md. Abdullahil Kafi. Special guests included Paba Upazila BNP Member Secretary Md. Abdur Razzak, Parila Union BNP Convener Md. Rezaul Karim, and its Member Secretary Md. Moklesur Rahman Rentu.
