Govt Sets Maximum Storage Price for Potatoes at Tk 6.75 Per Kg

Dhaka: The government has announced a maximum storage price of Taka 6.75 per kilogram for potatoes in cold storages across the country. This decision aims to regulate and standardize the cost associated with preserving potatoes, an essential staple in the local diet.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made through an official order signed by Mohammad Reza Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM). The regulation is in accordance with Section 16(b) of the Agricultural Marketing Act, 2018, which empowers the DAM to set such price controls. The move is expected to stabilize the potato market and ensure fair pricing for both consumers and producers.
