Dhaka: Adviser to the interim government on the Ministry of Finance, Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, announced today that the current administration has been receiving a very good response from all sections of society and international communities in its developmental activities. "It's a matter of optimism and happiness that we're getting a very good response from all quarters of the society and international community," he stated during the opening ceremony of 'PKSF Day 2024' held at the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) auditorium in Agargaon. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Salehuddin shared his experiences from the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the IMF Group in Washington last month, noting the positive reception from various bilateral and multilateral development partners. He emphasized the significant contributions of farmers, laborers, and RMG workers to the country's development, highlighting the need to fulfill their aspirations. Presiding over the event was PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, with Founding Managing Director of PKSF Badiur Rahman and the acting Managing Director M Fazlul Kader also speaking. Rahman underscored the importance of advancing in science and ICT, while Khan emphasized the necessity of a sustainable and innovative organization like PKSF for national development. Dr Salehuddin praised PKSF's reputation as a 'world-class' organization, urging its officials to maintain its standards of honesty and transparency. He also noted the organization's growth and the trust it has garnered from donors over time. The Adviser highlighted the interim government's efforts to restore order and implement short-term reforms in various sectors, aiming to leave a sustainable framework for future political administrations. He expressed satisfaction with the expanded operations and coverage of PKSF, which has been supporting millions of poor and underprivileged families through its associate organizations. The event also featured testimonies from beneficiaries of PKSF's programs and a d ocumentary showcasing its operations. Attendance included secretaries from various ministries, chief executives of PKSF's associate institutions, and other officials.
